Tournament Rules

  1. All fishermen must have a valid Arkansas fishing license if required.
  2. No alcohol or illegal drugs prior to takeoff, during tournament hours, or at the weigh-in.
  3. A tournament limit is 5 bass. No more than 5 fish allowed in the live well at any time. Reminder—If you fish alone you may not have more than 4 Smallmouth.
  4. If you present more than 5 bass for weigh-in and officials will cull your sack down, starting with the largest fish.
  5. Kentucky Spotted Bass and Smallmouth must measure a minimum of 12 inches. Largemouth must measure at least 15 inches. Officials will make every effort to make your fish measure on a flat board with mouth closed.
  6. Short fish penalty is (1) pound deducted from your total weight for each short fish. Short fish will not be weighed.
  7. Mutilated or otherwise altered fish will not be weighed.
  8. Live release is everyone’s responsibility. The penalty for dead fish will be as follows. 1 dead = .2 lb, 2 dead = .5 lb, 3 dead = 1 lb, 4 dead = 1.5 lb, 5 dead = 2 lb.
  9. Late penalty is (1) pound per minute late. After 10 minutes you will be disqualified.
  10. You must sign your weigh slip and keep your copy.
  11. Live wells will be checked at takeoff.
  12. Life jackets must be worn anytime the gas motor is running.
  13. Kill switch must be operable and attached to the driver.
  14. No live bait.
  15. No trolling with the gas motor.
  16. No fishing within 50 yards of a gas dock.
  17. You may not leave the boat to make a cast or land a fish. All fishing must be done from the boat.
  18. The use of any personal communication device, during tournament hours, to increase your catch potential is prohibited.
  19. No non-participants allowed in your boat during tournament fishing hours unless you are helping someone in distress.
  20. Mechanical breakdowns. You may have another participant bring your fish in. One partner must ride in with your fish.
  21. All U. S. Coastguard, AG&FC, and lake regulations must be obeyed.
  22. No trailering to the weigh in unless directed by a tournament official.
  23. You must carry your own fish back to the water if no fish handlers are present.
  24. Any protests must be made by the time the last team weighs in.
  25. Violation of any of the above rules could result in disqualification.
  26. Random polygraph tests will be given.
  27. Personal conduct. All participants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship and professionalism. This applies both on and off the water. Please be courteous to other participants and especially to other fishermen that are not participants. It is in everyone’s best interest, both as bass fishermen in general and as GFLB members, to represent the group in a positive manner. If you have a complaint, bring it to the attention of one of the officers in private. If it is a legitimate concern we will address it. Conduct that is detrimental to the image or reputation of the Greers Ferry Lake Bass Masters could be reason to revoke membership in the GFLB.
